I have the option to buy a 50Litre keg which the owner has drilled a hole for a weldless fitting as close to the bottom as to just allow the fitting to be attached.

Can a hole be drilled too low? If I purchase this item am I likely to have issues?

If the hole is too close to the bottom of the keg it may not allow a washer / nut to seal against the side of the keg... Are you able to see it before you buy it?

Only can see a picture unfortunately although seller is advising a weldless fitting can be attached successfully.
I was a bit worried that it may be too close to the heat source and cause the seal to fail.
