I recently bought an EdgeStar full-size kegerator (KC2000) and ran into issues tapping the keg. The handle would barely go down - enough to break the seal, but not to lock into place. The video and manual said to wait for a click, definitely no click. Even holding the handle down and leaving the tap open resulted in almost no beer. I thought I might not be applying enough pressure, but when I did, I broke the coupler. Maybe it had an issue to start with, maybe it was my fault entirely, but that's moot now.

Questions:
1. Where do I buy a new keg coupler? Will a LHBS have one?
2. If I broke the seal, how much damage am I doing by not having it hooked up overnight? I put some saran wrap with rubber bands over the opening, don't know what else I can do. I did disconnect the CO2, of course.
3. Has anybody else had issues with the coupler supplied with the EdgeStar KC2000?

The LHBS should have one. Mine does. Are you sure you had the correct type of keg for the coupler you have? By that I mean what kind of beer is in the keg?

It's not a homebrew keg - New England Brewing Company Supernaut IPA. I am using the coupler that came with the kegerator. It seemed to fit well, but the handle would not go down without (what proved to be) excessive force.

First thing I would do is contact them and make sure their kegs take a D type coupler. That's what should have come with the kegerator. If they are D types, then it sounds like there is a problem with the coupler and I would contact the place you bought the kegerator from.
