OK, I live in San Diego and my garage is about 63 this time of year. I just built a new Keezer last week. I used a 2x10 for the collar. The wood was pretty green and still moist. Here is my problem. There is a lot of condensation on the inside of the lid. It is like Keezer Rain ever time I open the lid. Has anyone found a way to deal with the condensation in a keezer.

Thanks,
Tom

+1 on the Damp Rid mini buckets. I was getting a ton of condensation and one of these little buckets completely stopped it. They seem to last a lot longer than I expected they would. The nice thing about these is there are refillable so you save money after intial purchase

i just bought some yesterday and will adding that to the keezer once i stop opening it so much playing with my CO2 hookups becuase I scared that I am leaking co2.. today will be the day :)

I had similar problems with condensation inside my 3 keg keezer. I learned about the DampRid product here and finally went out and bought some at my local grocery store. I don't remember the exact price, but it was less than $10. It cleared up my moisture problems overnight! Worth every penny.

Damp rid turned the inside of my chest freezer yellow. I don't know why, but I have heard the same from others.

I use an EvaDry unit from Amazon ($25). It soaks up the moisture, and when full, you just plug it into an outlet and the built in dryer makes it like new! I use it while fermenting with 4-6gallon carboys (active) and 2-5 gallon carboys (secondary) in my freezer.

Chocolate Rain is about racism. Keezer rain is about joy, and sharing. Nothing better than opening the Keezer to get a cold glass and getting soaked by Keezer rain from the lid. Means you are about to have beer with your friends. It is more like making it rain at a strip club than Chocolate rain.

damp rid is awesome.. dont buy the large size, you dont need it.. i got a small tub with a huge refill carton for 6 bucks at homedepot.. looks like it will last a whole year...

I actually havent yet. The wood was pretty wet so I was going to wait. How do you reccomend. The collar is 2x4.

i have seen a few different methods here... i went to lowes and got the pink siding foam. you have to buy a big piece, but it's nice to have around. i believe it was the 3/4" or 1" thickness. then i used clear caulk to apply the cut pieces to the collar on the inside.

there is also some light reflective material that comes in a roll, same general area at lowes.
