All of the "economy priced" controllers I see in the write-ups seem to be centered around the imported controllers that use readouts in C. I'd prefer, if I can do so for not too many dollars more, to do one with a readout in F.

Are there any heat/cool controllers suitable that are F and similarly priced?

You can look for a CN9000A on ebay. Can get them sometimes for under $40. They do both C or F. Depending on the model you may need a SSR for one of the outputs but it can be used. Can get an SSR pretty cheap. There are a lot of different versions of the Omega's that will work just fine it is finding them for a good price. Once you find one you can search the model number on the omega site and see if it has SSR built in or is DC pulsed witch will require an external SSR. Some have both. I have a couple different ones so if you are interested PM me.

Also make sure to zero it when you get it so when you use the PID setup it is more acurate. Also out 1 is 5A and out 2 is 3a. Most people asume they are both 5a

I'll be sure to check those ... the spec sheet I have has those as 10A, maybe it's dated. Should be plenty though for a heat lamp and the compressor.
