Just tried my first bottle of my first batch!

Cooper's India Pale Ale.

Just bottled last week and could not wait to try. Beer was kinda had a funky bite to it when I tried some while bottling. Expected it to be flat and not perfect, but still made me wonder how well it would condition in the bottle. Just opened it, nice carb so far. Small amount of head, but thick and a little dark.

The beer is smooth and delicious! Much better than I expected, and can't wait for the next 2 weeks to go byy to try another. For an IPA, it's less hoppy than expected. No real hops aroma, and the first taste of hops was after I swallowed it. But a nice flavor nonetheless. Much smoother than I thought it would be. Gonna do some kits first before I try to step it up a notch. If a kit is this tasty, an AG must be outstanding.

Gonna start my second batch on Tuesday and I am PUMPED!!

Glad to here it, I just bottled my first last week. My buddy convinced me to crack one while we brewed on Christmas Eve... it had good Carb with great retention. The flavor was excellent too! Can't wait to let them sit for a while and try them again!

I would bet that each and every homebrewer on this board vividly remembers popping open that first beer from the very first batch. I started with Midwest's Autumn Amber Ale, and I couldn't wait either! Since that first batch, I've a.)got enough in the pipeline to satisfy my thirst, and b.)learned some much-needed patience in brewing.

But...enjoy that first beer! Good, ain't it?

Since that first batch, I've a.)got enough in the pipeline to satisfy my thirst, and b.)learned some much-needed patience in brewing.

That's the beer I am planning to brew for my fist one as well. Unfortunately I won't be able to brew for another week or so. Hope it turns out as well as yours did.

Pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to what it will taste like with a few more weeks in the bottle...if I can wait that long!
