Hey all,

I have been a lurker on here for a while and just recently (today) made an account. Better late than never. I also just launched a blog, mostly to keep track of my experiments.

One of my first recipes was a NEIPA and I'd love some feed back on that!

Happy brewing.

I think it looks nice, I like the design very much.

One nit-pick: in the about section you say you are "engineer by day and homebrewer by trade". I don't think you mean 'by trade' probably, trade usually means job. I assume you are being paid to be an engineer (so that is your trade) and homebrewing is your hobby or avocation.

Also, as someone who also keeps a homebrewing website, I think one challenge is to avoid the appearance of shilling for views. Its difficult, but you came here, a homebrewing forum that you don't participate in, to drive traffic to your website. Personally, that doesn't bother me, but it will rub some people the wrong the way.

Thanks for the feedback. Definitely not a nitpick, I like the thoroughness. You’re correct, I’m definitely not a brewer by trade! I’ll make that change.

Yea I can see how my intentions may be misconstrued. I’ll take that into consideration before posting again as I don’t want to leave a bad first impression.

Thanks!

Pappers, you do a blog? Shilling for views is ok with me, what's the link?
I'd like to do a blog about brewing, cider, mead, hobby orchards and vineyards but I just can't seem to find the time.

To the OP, your blog looks pretty good, looking forward to tasting notes, and re-brews. And I wouldn't worry about posting on HBT when you add items to your blog. Anyone who get their shorts twisted will get over it.

Welcome to the forum!

There is a forum specifically for beer blogs and articles. That is where I post new blog posts.

I did a Zombie Dust video recently myself. I used the recipe from Northern Brewer which isn't too far off from what you did. Just bottled that yesterday. Smelled very good. Looking forward to tasting that one in a week or two.

Happy brewing!

Hi. I concur with others, the site design is very nice and clean, readable. I know you're just starting out but I would try to add some additional personal content. Who are you? Why are you brewing? What can readers get out of this? Stories? Reviews? If you're crafting your own recipes, get into details about your hops and grains. What does hop x give you that makes you choose it over another? If you can, add some good pics from your brew day and your final products.
Otherwise I kind of see it in the realm of a food blog ... If you want continued readership make a personal connection. Otherwise it's just a list of recipes. Which isn't bad, but just something to think about depending on where you want it to go. And it doesn't have to be "here's my dog and family" personal, but like "hey this is what I like to do, this is my goal, come follow along with me" . Does that make sense? Not trying to be negative, I think it's a good start!
