Just got this keg from a friend. Says it's from the 60's

Anyone shed any light on how the tap and faucet are removed from this keg? Looks like a 1/8 turn bayonet style connection but cannot turn far enough to remove. Also is that a wooden bing in center of the keg?

Yes, that's a wooden bung sealing the fill port...

Looks like its actually a Golden Gate Keg form the 50's
no spear, gravity feed.
