Hey everyone. I am brand new to home brewing. I just recently acquired cases and cases of Blue Berrys from an Tractor Trailer accident. I want to start fermenting them. I am looking on getting some equipment inexpensively, perhaps making a lot of it my self since I do not have a lot of funds.
Please send me some info or ideas.
Thanks

Are you planning on fermenting these blueberries directly or make a beer with them?
What is your total budget?

Send them to my address, I'll pay for shipping and send you a couple bottles of what I make :)

You could easily make a blueberry wine...just need some way to crush the grapes and a couple buckets...Talk to your local home brew shop...The biggest problem you may have is controlling the wild yeasts that are already on those accident prone blueberries.

you might want to ask the wine guys??

If you have a chest freezer, you could freeze a bunch of them for later use.

Heck, if I could get down there, I'd buy some off you. I'm in Baltimore, but my folks are in Waldorf.

You didnt accept blue berries as payment for an accident did you?

you could always make an extract of them and then add that to most recipes to taste. I had a blueberry porter a couple months back at the local brew pub that was rather good.

I didn't realize I posted in the Beginners Beer brewing Forum!
I was going to just ferment the Blue Berrys by them self and make some wine.
Thanks for all of the info!
I will re-post in the wine section. hopefully they will have some info for me.
