Hi all !
Once again im in need of advice ...

was looking for, but couldn't find anywhere SS Jubilee Clips and the only thing there is around here is the Mild Steel ones.

Will this be ok to use for the braid in the mash tun ?

I would not use mild steel fittings in any beer producing vessel as with the low pH inherent to each process step it will rust quickly, and avoiding metallic flavors is usually pretty high on everyone's list...

Cheers!

I hear you!
That was actually my concern as well, but the only substitute that I can think of is the zip tie and i don't think that that would work out also...

Any other suggestion ?

While we try to avoid iron in our brews, apparently a bit of copper in the wort can be a good thing. So you could use a piece of heavy solid copper wire as a twist tie...

Cheers!

and i did just that !
striped some power wires and used the copper wire to tie the braid together and also did a twist of two wires for the inside structural support of the braid as well !
i hope this will work out :D

:mug:
