Holy crap. I was watching the stories last night. I figured it would be soon.

One of the great American space pioneers. An American hero. I remember as a kid when the astronauts landed on the moon. I had to have the astronaut GI Joe with the space ship and all the gear. A great time to grow up and my friends and I really looked up to all those brave men! May he rest in peace

I have a GREAT series here that follows the entire space program. John Glenn, of course was a big part of that, from Mercury to the space shuttle (oldest astronaut!). The series is available on bluray. I highly recommend that for anybody that gets the urge to look back and this magical part of US history.

A Marine fighter pilot in WWII & Korea, Astronaut, US. Senator, Presidential candidate, Astronaut again...
There are few (if any) who could measure up to that. Truly an American Hero.
