well anyone there yet drinking it???

I was there at around 12:30 today. There were about 25 people there, and approximately 20 of them worked for Live Oak. Lovely day to sit and watch the rain on the porch.

The beer was FANTASTIC. Easily my favorite non-fruit sour they've had in quite a while. Crisp, citrusy flavors, with a notable tartness that toed the line but didn't go over in terms of being "too tart." I could really drink a lot of this, and wish I could have purchased more than 2 bottles - I would have easily bought 6 if I could have.

Hey guys,
Visiting Austin (from San Diego) next weekend, I'm renting a car to make the trip out to JK (should be there from 4-6ish on Friday if anyone wants to meet up.... Or for IP trade).

Any quick tips for a JK 1st timer?

Also, I am debating on grabbing bottles to ship home.... Figured I'd bring a prepped shipper and just drop it at the FedEx on the way back to Austin. Anyone else have success with this?

Thanks in advance!!

Food wise, 100% eat at Pieus. It's on 290, just a bit past the turnoff for JK if you are coming from downtown. Incredible pastrami and pizza.

If there's a fruited release next weekend expect crazy lines. If it rains it gets pretty muddy.

Everyone is super friendly and it's an amazing place to grab a beer. Enjoy!

Hopefully Jester King still EXISTS after all the rain we had today, lol.

does this mean the tasting room will be packed for the bottle release? should i plan to get there before 4pm?
Smart move would be to get there at 4, skip the bottle line until later and go straight for pours. Then later you'll find the bottle line will be minimal and the inside pour line will be long as it's the only one. There's plenty of bottles to where there's no risk it will sell out until at least late Saturday

I say get there at 7:00-7:30pm on Friday after dinner at Pieous or Stanley's and skip the lines altogether. It should be pretty much cleared out by then by those who showed up right at opening.

I also hate the traffic on 290 (near the 290/71 split) during rush hour on Fridays. Bleh.

Agree - pours first, then bottles later.

Last weekend, they had an outdoor station setup on Friday, which REALLY helped the pour line issue. I sure hope this is going to be a regular thing every weekend now.

This. But not the Stanley's part.

thanks guys, this is really helpful! i'll be there tomorrow from 4pm-6ish (wearing a Rare Barrel hat) if anyone wants to say HI.... i'll be the big guy with a goatee, I'm sure I'll stick out like a sore thumb ;)

I tried to buy a bottle of Sin Frontera last Saturday around 4 and they told me it had sold out, but it's still on the to-go list for this weekend. Did anyone buy Sin Frontera bottles on Sunday? They might have just been misinformed, which is fine. I'm sure I will be back out there this weekend.

Tried to buy one last Sunday and was told the same thing.

They updated the list and removed Sin Frontera.

Was here at 4pm.... 5 minute wait for tasting room and no lines for bottles... Super chill day, having a blast with these amazing beers... Thanks everyone for the assistance....

On a side note, I have a bottle of '08 Dark Lord here if anyone has extra Atrial laying around for an IP trade.... Probably too last minute, but worth a shot...
