Black Metal this weekend. 3000 bottles, and apparently a new mixed fermentation using brewer's yeast and house yeast.

I liked Jeff's comment about how if you like OG, you won't like this. Not sure what to expect - sort of a less sour Funk Metal?

I imagine less sour than Funk Metal, but still tart, and lacking the extra complexity from maturation in oak. Also, Funk Metal is blended with other sour, barrel-aged beer to "to round out the palate." This new batch of Black Metal sounds a little closer to Funk Metal than the last farmhouse version, but still not quite the same. I'm excited to try it.

Hit up JK today and tried all the "new" stuff.

Frontera: I could take it or leave it... seemed kinda one dimensional.
Coquetier: I'm a fan. A lot going on. Really awesome finish.
New batch of Black Metal: Still don't know how I feel about this... a weird love child of Funk Metal and OG Black Metal.
Boxers: Enjoyed it... as did the wife.

Babies don't play around with your wallet, so I didn't take any bottles home.
