Guess this means I'm certainly gonna volunteer to pour at the festival. Not interested in dealing with a **** show.

Yuck. This is going to be a disaster.
I wanna hear they have like.... 20 kegs or some ridicuous number.

If they did spread it out across Stanley's, outside table, and inside the brewery and had like 5 taps across 4 stations ... it could work?

If they get 4 kegs and try to put that at 4 stations.... that beer will be gone as fast as the sweat pouring down a newmoney shitlord's brow.

Last year they only had 1 keg of Zwanze afaik.. I don't see them getting more than that. They may have other Cantillon kegs, but the hype is over the "1 off" beer. It's going to be a **** show no matter how you slice it

Maybe the play is to go down, ignore the Zwanze beer and just enjoy the other offerings as people fight over Zwanze pours.

There's also the fact that Texas Craft Brewers Festival is happening at the same time.
Oooh... maybe once news spreads I'll actually be able to pick up those VIP tickets I wanted that sold out before I even knew they were on sale, lol.

So word along the hop vine is that Jester King sells different sizes of bottle shippers? Has anyone ever bought those from them? Just curious to know more.

I believe they sell 4-, 6- and 12-shippers, they’re cardboard with corrugated cardboard dividers. You’ll still need to bubble wrap the bottles (there’s no styrofoam in the shippers), but otherwise they’ll ship just fine

Right on! It's great to see a brewery do that, especially one with such a huge to go list such as JK. I'll be taking along some bubble wrap and tape in my luggage.

Especially given we're one of those dumb states that it's "illegal" to ship beer/liquor out of or into.... even if licensed.

Wine is cool tho. Cause laws make sense.

It was good. A little more crowded than usual, but not too bad. Cantillon kegs lasted until about 1:15 pm. You definitely could have sampled everything a few times if you wanted to be a gluttonous double fisting pig and jump from line to line once you got a pour.

They put on Classic Gueuze after Kriek kicked at the pasture bar, so that may have lasted until 2:30 or so.

Rather than wait in lines all day, I opted to sample the Cantillon offerings I had yet to try (Rose de Gambrinus and Grand Cru), as well as the new Spon Raz-Cherry, Das Uberkind, Classic Gueuze and Loverbeer BeerBrugna.

Free pours of Side Project Fencerow was a nice way to finish the day.

In the end, I spent the same amount of money as I would have if it were a ticketed event, only without the epic bottle share.

I got there around two as I waffled about even going. Was able to get a pour of Zwanze and while waiting in line for another pour it kicked and Fencerow was tapped. Pleasantly surprised by this year’s Zwanze. The sky fell and had to stay under the Zwanze tent forcing me to get a second pour of Fencerow. Poor me! Missed all the other Cantillons, but that didn’t matter to me as I knew they would kick as soon as they were tapped. Really enjoyed Spon raspberry - have to say it’s the best fruited Spon.

Gonna be at jk this saturday after gp qualifiers. Hope the brewery is ok through all this rain. Anybody else book their gp trip before they knew shelton fest was gonna be in denver!?

The brewery will be fine (it's certainly survived worse). However if it rains a lot don't plan on being able to get to the brewery (even for a day or two after the rain stops).... the rivers start flowing over the road down in Dripping Springs pretty damn easily.

It's pretty bad... been pouring since Sunday.

Brewers Table is so good... I was there last week.

If you look in the Texas thread I’ve put a lot of suggestions in there. Of the newer breweries, The Brewtorium has been constantly churning out great product. Oddwood is probably the “sexist” new brewery out there, especially if you like saisons.

If you like ABW definitely check out St Elmo, which is pretty close (relatively) to ABGB. It's run by a few ABW alums who left to do their own thing. Karl Kolsch FTW.

We're fine. We're not subject to flooding where we're located all the roads are clear today including the one I posted a video of.

Is anyone from Dallas going to JK this weekend that would be able to pick me up a single bottle of the Spon Plum for an in person trade?

I’m in Boston for work until 11/2 and can’t make it down. I’m moving to New Hampshire next month and because I’m a completist, I’d like to keep my Spon cellar going with one of each bottle.
