I am wondering if anyone else has run into something when it comes to potential trades of Jester King beers and people claiming the sours do not taste good and are not worth trading for. Or are not worth at minimum the $16 we paid for them as compared to the beer they have?
Of course I believe these same people are all about getting Atrial or any version of Atrial that may be ever made.

Just be happy that TX isn't as into that self valuations homer hyper ******** as most of the rest of the country. If everyone's beers were as good as everyone claims they are then very little would be traded and people would drink more of what they buy.

You could probably say some variation of this for every beer made.

That being said I don't usually seek out trades for the JK sours I get. I mostly just give them out in BIFs or open them with my dad or friends who are interested. Not sure what beer you are trying to land or if this is a general statement.

And yes everyone is ISO Atrial and MvB constantly. Nocturn tastes the best anyway.

I'm torn. Cool idea, but I can't help but worry that the money spent at the brewery I had hoped would go to expanding the brewery space and creating more availability of their beers I enjoy, will instead be used to fund farm activities that I am less interested in. Especially starting up a farm where there is no income and all expenses for a significant period of time.

It's 58 acres. I would be SHOCKED if they didn't expand the brewery space. I would expect that to come sooner rather than later as expanding/making more beer will bring in more money

They're still expanding, I just don't think it's at the rate that everyone might want. I know everyone would love to see their fruit wilds on a shelf, but I don't think that has ever been their long term goal. They want people out at their property to have the experience. I'm pretty sure they would take on a venture like this unless they were sure it wouldn't hurt what they've already grown in 5 years.

Granted I'm no farmer, but 58 acres doesn't seem all that large if you want an orchard, a vineyard, cattle, grains, herbs, and whatever else they said....

In the end I'm not that worried about it. They can do what they want and I will continue to visit and enjoy myself, but if I'm supporting a brewery, in an ideal situation I want that money to be used to make the brewery better. Not to make the brewery, and farming, and their orchard, and their vineyard better.

I am pumped that it will continue to be a farmhouse style atmosphere surrounding the brewery without the encroachment of residential development.

Seems they do intend to use the additional acreage to the benefit of beer:

"In addition to planting grains, herbs, and vegetables for brewing, we’ll devote land to starting both a vineyard and orchard. We often blur the lines between beer and wine with our fruit refermentations, so growing our own fruit at the brewery will be an exciting step forward for us."

Or at least a shooting range or disc golf course.

Not sure how anyone can say this is a bad thing as if they are growing their own ingredients the wait for them to come in shortens which in turn should shorten time between batches of beers

Yes, but the coolship beers will be ready when they're ready

Doesn't have anything to do with quality. I'm not a fan of JK. Or maybe I'm not a fan of West TX terrior.

That's a lot of different disciplines under one roof. How many breweries are malting their own grain? Thankfully they didn't say they'd be growing their own hops.

Each new item they want to add requires a new skillset, hardware and licensing. It's just very ambitious. The easiest one to add would be vinting. Although I don't know how long it takes for grape vines to become productive.
