Going to be brrwing a batch of vanilla java toasted.oatmeal porter this weekend. Think of cold steeping 3.5 to 4.5 ozs coffee in a small french press and adding to the keg at carbing. Any thoughts on this quantity??

That sounds about right. The Founder's Breakfast Stout clone that I've brewed used 4 oz (5 gal batch). The clone was spot on, so if you like the amount of coffee flavor in Founder's Breakfast Stout, that would be a good amount to use.
