This is one of my biggest reason I brew. Perfection is based on your rules. Change a recipe, try a different yeast, ferment at different temps. If it tastes good, drink it.
 
I think perfection is having the beer turn out exactly as you intended it. And I strive for that. It's a rare occurrence, but I sure as hell keep trying!

Most mistakes = beer and usually drinkable.

Doing what you listed is what I like to do but I also make changes for a reason and want my beer to come out as I intended.

I don't do anything too extreme so I always get a good beer. Never had a dumper yet.

OH DARN! I just jinxed myself!
