Wanting to brew a clone but have never had the real thing. Would like a few so I can try before brewing, then try after brewing to compare.

I live in Northeast TN right on the Virginia/North Carolina border so I can trade anything from this area. I have access to a lot of Asheville stuff up here (except Wicked Weed) which I have to go down to Asheville for.

Let me know if we can work anything out. I have traded with @m00ps before and he can vouch for me even though I haven't been around here for too long.

Let me look at a map of breweries in your area. I can get Sculpin easily.

Sounds good let me know what you find. Beer finder is pretty good but I'm sure you know about that.

If you have some favorite styles let me know and I can suggest something too if you don't see anything you've been wanting to try specifically.

small world. My craft beer store just literally got in Ballast Point for the first time last week. It really is a great beer. Much better than anything else Ive had thats fruit based

It is the Norhern Brewer recipe I'm going to make. I'd like to try the real thing first and also during to compare.

I have some Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout I could send from Lexington, I can also send some various stouts from Highland and other close breweries. I'd love to be able to send you some Wicked Weed Sours but I won't be able to go down there any time too soon with the holidays and such.

@m00ps doesn't live that far from me maybe he has some recommendations in the stout category that I can get a hold of easy to send you. I haven't tried as many as others may have, I've been on an IPA and Saison kick.

some of the best stouts/porters ive had when I lived in NC were:
Duck Rabbit - Baltic porter
Asheville brewing company - ninja porter
Founders - breakfast stout (guessing this is available everywhere)
Three Floyds - Moloko
Against the Grain - 35K
Terrapin - Wake n bake
Flying Dog - Gonzo

Got your PM. I'm willing to wait on something from Wicked Weed! Those don't make it over to my area.

BPGS is about $15/6 pack, which is pretty close to the cost of a bottle of their Black Angel Cherry.

If the search is still on going I can get grapefruit sculpin here as well. Just let me know and I'll take a look at what's available where you're at that I might be interested in.

i was planning on sending you some more stuff soon. Im waiting to buy the grapefruit sculpin though so its fresh as possible. Frustrating that ballast point doesnt put any dates on their beers

Just let me know if you get one before then

Let me know if still looking. We have it at our local grocery chain (Jewel) here near Chicago.

Now to cause the OP more angst...

Have you tried Pineapple Sculpin? It's amazing! 10x's better than the Grapefruit!

Actually I have! That and the Watermelon Dorado. To be honest I wasn't a big fan, tastes like artificial flavoring to me...
