Is this worth $320?

From Sabco:

Reconditioned Keg Fryer: $189.95
False Bottom: $59.95
Burner: $69.95

Comes to about $320. So I guess you'll pay the same amount from Sabco, but get the bottom.

The burner alone can be had for less than $100 from, among other places. www.bayouclassicdepot.com. Not sure how much the keg alone costs. Looks like the keg comes with a cover, which is not particularly necessary for brewing or frying.

I think you could piece together something better for about the same cost:

Sabco Universal Kettle: $100, reconditioned (Sabco)
Lid: $29 (Sabco)
170kBTU/hr Burner: $70 (Sabco)
SS Ball Valve/Nipple: $26.25 (www.ihomebrewsolutions.com)
Hop Stopper: $60 (www.ihomebrewsolutions.com)
Sight Tube: $15 (www.ihomebrewsolutions.com)

Total: $300.25

You will probably pay the $20 savings in shipping charges since the ad says it's free, but something like this will be much more functional because you will get a kettle screen and Sight Tube and won't be paying a premium for a brand new keg. You could probably save money by finding a cheap 12" lid at Wal-Mart or someplace else and going with a brass valve and nipple from Home Depot. In any case, a kettle equipped like this is ideal in my opinion and would be the last kettle you ever bought as long as your homebrew hobby lasts. If you wanted to integrate a thermometer in there, you could probably do it for less than $25.

Prosit!

Dude you are like a stones throw from me and I got my 1/4 barrel that I am converting to a kettel for $10

Spend $10 on gas, drive to Milwaukee and buy a half barrel for $20 or so and save yourself $70 on the kettel alone. As for the lid, what ya got laying around the kitchen?

**EDIT**
Let me know when you come up we'll grab a beer or 6
