Is this too much Crystal 60L?

The directions can be found at http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/7051/vanilla-cream-ale-009 They call for 6lbs of Crystal 60L, this seems really high. I was thinking he made a typo and ment .6lbs. What do you guys think?

6lbs of crystal? Yikes! I use 1/2lb in my partial mash beers. You don't need much imo.

very true, along with 2 oz vanilla extract? didn't even look at the rest of it at first. step away from the recipe...

Well I bought all of the ingredients except I only bought 1 lbs of the 60L. And suggestions as to what I should brew? Was thinking about following the recipe except only using .6lbs of the 60L. Or taking back the Amber extract and getting a wheat and pilsner extract.

The whole recipe is a loser- it wouldn't make a drinkable beer at all. You can save the ingredients, and maybe use them in a future beer but together as a whole the recipe is a disaster.

The ingredients, individually, aren't all that bad. But putting them together is.

An analogy is that I like ice cream, spaghetti sauce, and pickled herring. But I wouldn't mix them up in the same pot. That recipe is an ice cream spaghetti and pickled herring recipe- it's just not a good recipe.
