Hello fellow brewers, I am concerned that I made a mistake while making my first yeast starter. After cooling my starter wort I grabbed the liquid yeast right from the fridge and pitched it. I forgot to bring it up to room temperature. The yeast is fermenting but I'm concerned if I will have enough healthy and enough cells for my brew day today.

Youre fine as long as the wort was cool. It's being dropped into hot wort that shocks them. I never bring my yeast to room temp before pitching

If I have the time. I like to cold crash for about 36 hours, decant most of the liquid, shake that up, and pitch.

But sometimes if I wanna hurry up and brew I just throw the whole starter in. I mean, 1.5 quarts of extra light dme doesn't do any real harm in my experience.
