I picked up my 5lb CO2 tank on Craigslist and then ordered a Micro Matic regulator, but the regulator doesnt seem to fit the co2 tank (regulator connection for a larger tank maybe?). Is it a matter of just picking up a coupling of some kind at Home Depot so that it fits? It seems like usually other people's pics look like it just screw right on without any other hardware required. Did I order the wrong version?

No you ordered the correct CO2 regulator, that nut pulls out and screws right on. Those have a built in gasket so you should not need an extra plastic washer.

When I move the nut over the threads of the tank, there's a lot of space....it's like it's meant for a larger tank. Arg

I don't know what to tell you. That looks like the regulator I have only the dual valve attached, and it looks like a standard CO2 tank. Sorry if this is insulting, but you kind of have the regulator upside down in the pic. You're not trying to tighten it the wrong way, right?

My regulator is an EN562. Here are a couple more pics to better show the problem.

The CO3 tank connection looks normal. I think that regulator has a non-standard sized nut. I've never seen that brand of regulator. All the ones I've used are TapRite brand. Maybe call them up and ask to replace it with a standard sized one

Yeah something looks funky, I thought you had this one from the initial pic. I don't even see a model with that name on the site.

Now I'm nervous. I bought this off eBay. The guy had 100% positive feedback, but I noticed that the package was shipped from Ukraine. Hmm - i wonder if it's a knockoff

Is there a CGA number on the nut? If it didn't come with the proper fitting, and it's rated for the pressure, you can swap the CGA nut and nipple for like $5 at a homebrew shop.

Alright. I'm an idiot :)

Apparently the guy I bought it from was in Europe and he posted the specs (see screenshot...derr). I just called micro matic and ordered the correct nut size. The tricky part is going to be unscrewing the stem which isn't taped....hopefully I don't break anything. The rep told me it's "left threaded". Thank God he told me that....I thought everything was righty tighty.
