This is my first time brewing and I decided to try cider. Is this normal or is it ruined?

It's a very blurry picture...almost looks like yeast granules up near the bung. If so, don't sweat it.
 
I disagree with the previous two posters. I believe you have most likely managed to culture a fatal, fascia-eating type of virus that may eat the flesh of your entire body and initiate a global, apocalyptic event. You can either call the CDC hotline and face steep fines as well as possible prison time, or plug the entire carboy and ship it to me for a no-fee, safe disposal. Unfortunately, you will be out the shipping costs and the carboy, but it's much cheaper than calling in the FEDs. PM me for this free service. :D

Awesome advice right there!!! And a very generous offer. You must work in haz-mat,or be very thirsty!!! Hilarious.
