Is this male?

What is this growing from my hops? I have two year old Cascade, Chinook, and Nugget. Today I noticed these. Are these male shoot?

Nope. That is not hops.

Male flowers would form on the laterals - the same general location where you would find cones on the female plant.

Thanks. Update, upon closer inspection I found some weird weed attached to the bines and growing up giving off these seed pods.
Morale of this is keep up with your weeding! Especially need the base.
