so i brewed an american wheat ale.

1/2 lb of flaked wheat steeped 150 for 30mins
6lbs of wheat DME
1 oz. tett hops for 60 mins (pellets)
safale us-05

its been in the bottle for a little over a week, i have only tried one but it tastes almost like candy, a pretty sweet taste, my first thought was the corn sugar i primed with, but with only 3/4 cups in 5 gallons would that really make a diffrence? at any rate i know its got alcohol in it so it will be drank once its fully carbed:tank:

okay well this is my first brew so chaulk another lesson learned up on the board :)
thanks for the reply

edit: i knew it was too early for it to be finished but i didn't think it would cause it to taste sweet just thought it wouldn't be fully carbed. i guess you learn something new everyday huh?

The kits have an ETA for when it roughly can be suitable for consumption. A four week brew basically breaks down into 1 week primary, 1 week secondary, 2 weeks conditioning in the bottle. I've been sampling my NBA in the second week after it's been officially ready and these things do get better with age.
