I am trying to put together a recipe for brewing this weekend. So far, I've decided it will be an IPA or IIPA, and it will feature Strata hops. Are some yeasts better than others for bringing out the dank character of this hop?

Use 1056 and add all dry hops after fermentation. If you want more weed I’d add a little 7270 or maybe some Columbus? I’ve used Strata in say 6 or 7 beers are had a few commercial examples with it. I would say it’s never incredibly dank but has notes of it. If you want more than that you’ll need to add another hop.

1056 just gets out of the way and lets the pure hop characteristics shine.

I usually bitter with a Hop Shot, and that is mostly CTZ. It feels smoother to me.

I put this list in its own thread, but maybe it belongs here, too. Which, if any, of these would you use for late boil, whirlpool or dry hop?

Here is my list of "other" hops. All are one ounce unless otherwise noted:
Eureka
Denali
X07270
Apollo
Calypso
Falconer's Flight 7 C's

The rest of these are cryo-hops with generally much higher alpha acid counts:
Loral
Ekuanot
Mosaic
Simcoe
Palisade (2 oz)

I

Eureka Denali Apollo and 7270 all have a relatively strong “dank” component to them. Denali is more Pineapple, Eureka is pine, fruit, dank, 7270 is weed, then fruit. Have t used Apollo enough.

I’d go (for 5 finished gallons)
Hopshot @ 60
strata @ 10
3oz Strata WP
1oz 7270 WP
.5oz Apollo WP or Eureka

DH
6oz Strata
1oz 7270
.5oz Apollo or Eureka

It sort of depends on the lot of hops you have. Unfortunately hops can be all over the board.
