Is super strength star-san safe for weldless fittings?

So I cut my kegs a couple months ago and made the mistake of not cleaning them right away. Now a couple kegs have rust spots that arent' coming out that easily (green scrubby pad) and I just want to make sure they are really clean. I've heard a triple strenght batch of star-san for a couple days will get rid of it. But the problem is I've already drilled my holes for the weldless fittings. I could keep the star san lower than the fittings but might make a mess. Do you think if I filled up keggle over the weldless fittings that it would mess up my new rubber washers?

Bar keepers friend and a little elbow grease will clean and polish the SS quite well. You can purchase it at Lowes, Walmart, etc.
