Is my beer shank big enough?

um....I teach English not math, but I'm fairly certain 3/4" is smaller than 2".
Why wouldn't it go through it?
 
That's really making me think. I'd say it would be close do you already have the shanks? The 3" ones are only $1 more and you would be safe provided you have the space
 
IMHO the answer is whether you'd be able to tighten the tail piece sufficiently to prevent leakage. To be safe, I'd go with the 3" shank.
 
3" is tight for a 1-1/2" cooler wall. About 1/8"-1/4" thread showing between the beer nut & shank nut.
 
Thanks to everyone. This was exactly my fear, that all the pieces and parts would take up to much space on the shank. I'll have to check, but I think the place I was going to order from only has 2" or 4" shanks.
 
I was flip flopping between 4 or 3 inchers and finally said screw it and went with the ones I KNEW would be long enough. I suggest the same.
