Is my beer ok?

I was bottleing my first batch of american ale from a kit it told me to add 5oz of the priming sugar but after my transfer I only had about 4 gallons. Will I be ok I really dont want any bottle bombs?

Yep.

Yes. You may be a tad overcarbonated, but as long as fermentation was finished before bottling, you'll be a long way from gushers or bottle bombs.
