My airlock hasn’t bubbled after a week and I’m worried my beer is not fermenting. It’s a farmhouse recipe I’m trying for the first time. After cooling, I had first transferred into a glass carboy and pitched my yeast; but I quickly realized that my carboy was almost full so transferred the beer over to a plastic bucket. Not sure if that transfer could have been bad since the yeast had just been pitched. I attached a photo of what the beer currently looks like. Curious if the photo is enough to know if the beer fermented or not. Thanks in advance.

You have krausen and yeast rafts on top. Yes, it fermented and/or is still fermenting. Close it up!

You can't trust airlocks on buckets. Buckets leak readily from the lid, and without a seal the airlock won't show any action.

Always take gravity readings. One when you rack to your primary and then take one after 5 days or so. If it drops you've had fermentation. Much more reliable.
