I currently have my first brew going on in my closet in a little 64oz bottle. It's going really well, there's lots of activity, it smells a bit like wine already, and it's only been going on for a few hours. I was wondering if it would be safe to move it though? The reason i put it in a place like my closet is because i thought my balloon air lock would expand, even though i put holes into it prior to placing it onto the bottle. Now that i realize the balloon won't be expanding, i would like to move my brew to a more "confined" space. I feel that my closet may not be safe enough. Would moving my brew be okay, would it disturb the fermentation process? When checking up on my brew's progress, i don't even like to touch it because I'm afraid that the slightest movement could mess everything up.

Move it. It will be fine.

I moved a sour beer from ny to Nj and then to pa. No problem.

Keep oxygen out and give it time to settle after moving it and you're set

As long as it's still active, I can't think of any reason not to move it. Moving to a more stable environment, temperature-wise, would help. It's really hard to mess up a primary fermentation, or a secondary for that matter. Stirring up the mixture in the late phases could reactivate the yeasties which would clean up any final activity, otherwise, no harm it moving it.
