Hi all -

I just got my latest shipment from AHS, and apparently the box was damaged in shipping. My bag of hop pellets took a direct hit, and now I essentially have hop powder instead of pellets.

Does it matter, or just as usable?

In my opinion, just as usable. Those hop pellets just separate the minute they go into boiling wort anyway. The only bad thing would be shops that regularly send out Hop powder because they are scraping the bottom of the barrel for the last of the two year old hops in the freezer.

I wouldn't be afraid to dump them in. However, if you're concerned, I would contact AHS. They have pretty good customer service.

Kinda what I figured. I won't blame AHS on this one because the box had a huge dent right where the hops were inside. Had it been the other side of the box, UPS would have had a nasty mess on their hands.

Dust is bad. If you're not careful it will freeze up your kettle bearings.

The muffler bearings on my kettle always seize up when using whole hops. When I get ambitious, I will break out the cast iron pipe stretcher to fix the problem.

Don't listen to them. It will just cause a lot more smoke; your kettle bearings will be fine as long as you've greased them within the last 18 months. Just use your left-handed smoke shifter and stand to the right.

Pfft! Everyone knows there's no such thing as muffler bearings, iron pipe stretchers and left handed smoke shifters. You're just taking my comment out of context to be funny.

And that's why I come back to this forum... the comedy relief! Best quote tonight. Reminds me of my days in the hardware business, telling newbies to grab the glass stretcher when they undercut window glass... :D

Hop dust can clog your fallopian tube if you're not careful. Ask me how I know this. Also sorry if its off topic but anyone in the market for a turbo encabulator? Its equipped with hydrocoptic marzel vanes but it needs a new reciprocating deplenerator.

OK, Jefe, I've gotta know, which random word generator are you using? Either it's way better than any I've seen, or you have WAY too much time on your hands! :mug:
