Yeah I got some floral stuff but nothing crazy overpowering, nice balance between fruity yeast and the flowers and spices.

However this bottle of saison is the best ******* thing I have had all year. Period. Seriously what the **** is in this? Tastes like sunshine.

Every bottle of Saison/Sur Lie I've had lately are insanely good. Picked a bunch off the shelves when I was out in San Jose a few weeks ago.

Found some sur lie labled Fantome in San Jose Best before 2018. These were exceptional bottles. Ended up with maybe 5 or 6 of them. Slightly skunked but it added to the experience in a positive way. Spices and the strawberry/melon you get from the best bottles. Skunky/funkiness in the background. Well carbonated. These bottles were a dream to drink.

Has any Sante hit the United States outside of FIBs ordering from Etre?
Had the chance to order 2008 bottles of La Dalmatienne at Toronado SF for $20 which I felt was the deal of the century. Tasted like an Oud Bruin. Slight oxidation. Minimal funk. More sour than any other Tome I've had.
I need to book a flight. Want so hard.

I think I have bottle of that still. The strawberry in some of them has been insane.

Is $25 what forest ghost is generally going for in the US? Saw it on the shelf and was kind of surprised by that price point.

Just got a shower from a Printemps. Lost all but about 8oz. It just sprayed everywhere. The beer was ok but very underattenuated, sweet and worty. Shame, it has a lot of promise. Bottle was lot aj 13.

I've seen it for $21-22 in Chicago. Feels like the pricing has jumped over the last year as as fantome has started actually moving off shelves. Stop talking about tomes.

Seedy and earthy strawberry fruitiness, herbal to almost cantaloupe-like hoppy flavors. Warming alcohol, bready grain and slight dusty earthiness. Prickly carbonation.

Really liking this bottle but it tastes young. Now...to decide how long I want to stretch these out and how frequently to drink them.
6 month spot check

The strawberry character is the most dominating trait at this point. Herbal/melon flavors are mild along with alcohol warmth. The dusty grain/earthiness is fading to more fruity qualities. Loving the direction this is headed. The green/young aspects are mostly cleared up but evident if you are specifically looking for it.

Also popped another B2 tous les d'japes and the similarities between these 2 are shocking. Tous tastes like the younger classic saison of 6 months ago.

Ive been stewing over this idea for years... its time to get the gears turning and at least discuss the possibility of making it happen.

I need to meet DanyP. I constantly dream about it. However, I have zero experience traveling abroad and im sure others here share the same feelings/reservation about doing so. What im proposing is a group effort to get us to Soy. Dont get me wrong, I understand Belgium has a lot to offer but please know that my top priority is visiting Dany and anything else done on this trip would just be a bonus.

I have no specific timeframe in mind, that is totally up for discussion. (It would need to be months, if not a year out so I can properly clear my schedule and save funds.) What im looking for are others who share the same feelings and would seriously consider/commit to planning something like this.

Dude, it's not that hard. Fly to Brussels, rent a car, you're there in maybe 3 hours I think. That being said I've never been sober enough in Belgium to feel comfortable driving, so maybe an accomplice is in order.

Get a train, or bike. Biking in Belgium is so easy. Bike lanes everywhere.

Like I said, ive been stewing over the idea for years. Id love to be able to convince myself that it could be as easy as you make it seem. However, something as simple as just go and do it Stakem has a strong possibility of ending up a cross between weekend at bernies and the hangover series.

Soy is only about 1 hour 30min from Brussels and a pretty easy and lovely drive. I did Luxembourg to Fantome to 3F and back to Luxembourg in a day quite easily.

Biking to Soy even from a somewhat near by train station would be a bit of work as this area is quite hilly. If you already ride a lot it would be fine though.

Setting up a private rental bus to and from Fantome is also option that could be very reasonably priced depending on # of people

In. I may even have a Brussels local who could drive us if he is around.

I'd definitely be into this. I've actually been trying to learn some French for when I do end up going. And while I'd love to check out Cantillon, 3F. My main reason for going would be to go to Fantome and Blaugies.
