Damn I'm jealous of that pissenlit.

It was a nice surprise seeing Magic Ghost on tap earlier today. I've never had it before so I was excited to try it, not nearly as green as some pictures I've seen but still a pretty beautiful pour. Tasted great too, nice green tea flavor over lots of funk.

The bottom of that keg will look like a kale smoothie.

ISO.

my friend gave me an old hiver over the weekend. this is when shelton used to distro to NJ years ago. they just started to again recently IIRC. can't wait to try it...will report back when i do crack it

There were a couple honey holes in central Jersey that up until like 5 years ago had lots of these old paper label tomes and seemingly noone desired them other than me. I would wake up on a Saturday and take the 4 hour round trip just to buy as many as I could afford, go home and solo them. Ahhhh yes, life was easy before having children.

I miss the days of seeing 5+ different tomes on a shelf.

There was a place like that here as well. They eventually put all the dusties on the discount shelf and I ended up buying a lot of them. Then one day the all disappeared. I think someone must have caught wind.

Saw Pissenlit, Sur Lie, and Noel this weekend. Not good for my wallet.

the distro used to be good in jersey...even about 4 years ago i used to see tons of oud beersel on the shelves, 375s that were dirt cheap...but now its basically a black hole for beer here its really ******. hopefully with shelton starting to distro again (in very limited quantity) it improves.

try living in a state with zero shelton.

only tomes ive ever bought retail have been while traveling. most tome rich place ive ever seen was a random little shop in bowling green kentucky. but that was 2011 or so. and HURHURHUR KENTUCKY HRARE HRURH

An Evening with Prairie Artisan

Come meet the Brewer! Chase will be here around 7PM

plus bonus kegs from Fantome

This is no Longer A Tap Takeover!! We'll have a few of their beers available on tap and some bottles along with the recently released Barrel Aged Bomb!

To to make up for the lack of Prairie Beers we are lucky to have acquired 3 Kegs from Fantome! First time we've seen these beers in keg for in many many years.

Come on out to Try:

Green Ghost

Hiver

and Saison

Edit - Reading about the lack of bottles on shelves, I really am spoilt around here.

Was that at the Trappist? I also noticed the lack of green and thought it was undercarbed, but I still liked it a lot. Astringency in beer, pretty interesting.

Keep hoping somebody would make a beer with white tea buds. I tried some tea made with those once and it had a lovely bitter/floral/fruity, almost hoppy character to it. Would probably be pretty darn expensive, though.

Yup, Trappist Provisions. I'm definitely very fortunate in terms of Fantome shelf availability but I'm an idiot and keep passing them up.

They brought it over to Provisions? I was talking to staff at Provisions on the 15th who had it at at the Oakland location the night before.

Yeah I had it at Provisions on Saturday. I didn't realize it was on at the other location before.

I need more tômes. Shelton....if you're lurking, Texas needs tômes, bruh.
I asked some people from Flood if it would ever happen. They weren't optimistic due to the fact that the actual ABV might be wildly different from the 8% or so that is on most labels. It's the same thing that held Cantillon and Abyss up.

danyP, I've been redrawing some old Fantome labels in illustrator. I was wondering if you cared if I put them on a website for people to download for free?

Have you done others? If so, which ones? I will pay in beer to have the loch ness label recreated so I can use it as my avatar.
