Anyone crack their Forest Ghost yet?

I received 2 on Friday along with Reg. Saisons and a couple of La Dalmatienne! I'm cold crashing 1 Forest right now to get it ready to Enjoy (from a long trip across the pond)!!! :p

You open that bad boy?

I opened the most-recent bottling of Chocolat last night. Had no idea what to expect. Ended up being pretty damn good. Reminded me of a more tart/funky version of Noel with some pepper on the nose.

I'm gonna open it up tonight!

PS I've been trying to post pics again and it's not working... (It just shows up like this
Can someone help? Thanks
I'm using the Imgur app :(

It was pretty good! It's darker than I expected!!! The color is lighter than a Hiver... It tasted like a Hiver minus the rich spices Dany uses in that... I taste aromic malt (which Dany uses in most of his darker SRM beers) but it is low. The Fantome Funk is still there!!! A good Carmel taste is present and fades away while the Fantome Funk takes over!!!

Good job Dany! I have 1 more! I don't think I'd buy another one (only because of the price... Could buy 2 others for the price)... (I'm always hoping for another Saint Roch beer that's reincarnated with every one of these small batch Fantome releases!!!) hint hint Dany!!!
cheers!!!

Saint Roch is drinking so ******* good! My last bottle of Hiver tasted heavily of oregano, is it less spiced than that?

I'll take take these 20 to 1 (even with a low carb... I'm expecting that)! A new shipment from Etre! Apricot flavors more than usual... carbonation will only get better!!! (I'm glad I got 8 of these in my last order) :)

The only thing that beats a Good Fantome Saison... is a Great Fantome Saison... and I'm hoping in a couple of months these will be GREAT!!!

Went down to San Diego from Long Beach yesterday and came up on a nice surprise. I don't know if there was a new shipment recently or if the store I went to stumbled upon an old stash, but either way I am so happy! I have not seen regular Famtome Saison in the wild out here in SoCal for well over a year. I also don't remember this beer looking so cloudy in the bottle, how about you all?

Will report on this when I open the bottle later this week.

Get the video camera ready and prepare yourself for a beer that pours with the consistency of elmer's glue but smells like lambic. ;)

At least that has been my experience with the last 3 shelfer classic tomes ive tried recently. Not that your experience will be identical, but it could be.

Haha, **** man this is going to be good!

Here's my brief notes from a 2015(?) bottle I opened over the weekend:

This is the best bottle of standard Fantome that I've ever had.

Tons of citrus rind and strawberries. Little bit of that dusty basement, mushroom dirt, and funk that always comes with a pour of Tome but it's almost buried under a layer of fresh cut tangerines and strawberry juice.

11/10

Had that happen with mine. Apparently it's pediococcus? Still tasted great to me.

Yeah, along with a couple 2012-2013 tilquins. I was pretty shocked at what was just sitting on the shelf there.
All the #newmoney here are too busy gobbling up cases of FBS, KBS, and Hopslam to care about low-trade-equity **** like Tomes and Tilquins.

That said, I think I need to get more bottles of Fantome Saison. I love the mere existence of this thread, as it serves as a constant reminder that I should be drinking more Fantome.

Jesus Christ. There were 48 bottles. I go back literally 1 minute later and there are 38 bottles. Not the Tomes, now, please not the Tomes.

Just wanted to point out that its 2 weeks later and the last of it is still available. So, im glad that auto-trigger purchase fingers hasnt become an issue for tomes like it is lambic.

By tome standards on etre, this was pretty limited availability and still lasted this long so there is hope we wont get to that level. I think the buying restriction on it is largely responsible for it lasting this long (as well as the talks of it coming to the US via shelton.) I know if given the chance, I would have bought more than 2. I always like to chug one as soon as it arrives, share one with a buddy and have 1-2 to set aside for aging science experiments.

danyP can we get some details on what "forest ghost" is? Funny name considering the label is palm trees and beach scenery!

Its on etre folks, 2 bottle limit.
there are 2 differents .. a blond and .. a dark .. Blond brewed with Target hops, and Pilsen and pale ale grains .
.. spices mix ..
