Is Fantome "back"?

If you have the recent batch of Pissenlit that was sold on Etre, I recommend sitting on it longer. This one is malty and phenolic. Almost just tastes like a boring ass Dubbel. Not the Pissenlit I remember. This needs at least 6 more months.

This Magic Ghost pic is from Christmas, but reminiscing about it is making me less sad about this Pissenlit. *******, this was good.

I've already had two from the batch you're referencing and thought both bottles were phenomenal, and tasted absolutely nothing like a dubbel and far from boring. I don't think you can ever give blanket advice for fantome.

You know what i love most about Fantome?

All of the ^ posts.

I would not drink it otherwise.

****** picture is ****** but its the best shot i can get and gets the point across. Bought a Hiver and there is a red cloud suspended in there and a ropey thick green sludge at the bottom.

Is this something I should hang onto expecting it to clear up or should i just cross my fingers, pop it and consume with a spoon?

hold on to that bitch, hope the great red cloud continues to feed/grow. play it music and talk to it for encouragement

thats what i would do

on a more serious note, can we get a pic that actually shows the red cloud? because all i see is typical standard tome juice that changes in appearance as you go down the thickness of the glass

Its the best shot i could get. Its like a pale color around the edges and this odd red cloud that doesnt settle out. And a bright green sludge at the bottom. I have old hivers and they so far have tasted awful but look normal. This one is just new for me.

I've drank probably +/- 12 bottles of Hiver in my life and I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. Like stakem said, I'd put it away for a while and see what happens.

That is actually THE Fantome. You managed to capture a supernatural entity on camera.

******* tome variation...

None of those descriptors come even remotely close to any of my experiences with this beer. Guess I better buy a couple just to make sure...for science.

I have 2 more bottles. I'm going to science the **** out of them. I need to buy more bottles as well.

It's probably a bloody "Tomer" o_O

ISO: pineappley lemon lime goodness!

Magic Ghost is about the only Tome beer I've had that might have had a faint citrus note. But even that is a stretch.

Thinking I could dig on a La Dal like SirDickButts described! Or any Tome!
Try and get your hands on a bottle of de tous les Djapes - citrus for days (consistently in the 5 or 6 bottles I've opened).

You know how I know you're full of **** now?

You used consistently in the same sentence as a fantome beer.
We all know that's not truth.

;)

Ha, I've been as amazed as you are. That's why I had to emphasize consistently. The funk has definitely been evolving with this one, but there's been loads of citrus in each bottle, albeit slightly less pronounced now that there's some age on it.

Really? I got lime and dank weed for days on the 2015 Dalmatienne light. So ******* good.
I get very distinct lime from Tous D'japes so im familiar with them lime feels.
Dal light to me was like a classic yeasty clove/banana saison with menthol. I hate menthol

iso the dank tweed version

Can anyone help me with what's the estimated bottling year for these bottles (a Saison, and a Printemps)?

As a bonus, I had a 2010/11 Hiver tonight that was super strange, perhaps even for Fantome.
Tons of overripe - almost rotten - fruits (honeydew, watermelon, apricot, raspberry, mango, dank durian, squishy oranges) and there's some wooden tannin-like flavors on the tongue; sweet but drying finish, medium carb, tiny bit of acetic tartness. Intriguing. Four of us shared it - all really liked it, and were mystified. Two more bottles left of that batch to try later.
