Draining this one was a SLOW process. But the aroma was very nice.

Wow, pretty cool! Let us know how it turns out. I noticed that your grain is all separated. My LHBS just dumps everything in a big plastic bag.

That was mail order stuff from Midwest Supplies. My LHBS also dumps everything in a bag...

hows that thermometer next to the mash tun work, i bought one and havn't tried it yet.

It works pretty good. On this batch, it was reading too low while I was mashing. I wanted to freak out, but I knew it probably had something to do with the probe not being in the mash correctly. When I opened the lid, that's exactly what I saw. Good news: Mash wasn't as low as what the thermometer was reading. Bad news: I have no idea what it actually was. ;)
 
It took a while for the Nottingham yeast to fire up (real long lag time on this one), but it's really kicking ass right now... :)
