It is my understanding that these are used for clarification. Is there any other reason you would use one over the other?
Thanks

Thanks! I knew the tabs contained Irish moss. But wasn't quit sure which I should use thanks for the quick reply!

Irish moss works. I use a whirlfloc-similar product called Protafloc and it works nicely.

Just don't get SuperHB Moss . . . it absorbs moisture or something right after your first use and it turns into a useless brick. Amazingly crap.

Just use gelatin. Get beer that`s plenty clear without using anything else.

I have had no issue with whirlfloc and crisp clear beers now that I'm kegging

The active ingredient in any Irish moss product is carrageenan. The five star supper moss didn't work that well in my opinion. And I still have my pill splitter, so I['ve split all my Whirlfloc tablets in half, just right for a 5 gallon batch. They work great & the beers still give good head! :ban:

Maybe I should try slipping one into my wife's juice one morning... :ban:
