I bought a pack for $1 from homebrew shop. It had about 3 teaspoons of irish moss and 3 teaspoons of gelatin in it.
I never used either.
John Palmers's book says to toss in the Irish Moss at last 15 minutes of boil. It didnt mentioned anything about the gelatin.
I tossed both of them in at the same time. Problems with this?
My beer is currently fermenting and I can see white gelatin chunks getting tossed around in the fermenter.
I read now that gelatin is added later and not boiled....

You probably will not have a problem but the gelatin should of been added 3 days before you plan on bottling/kegging, and not boiled.

The gelatin will pull all the yeast and proteins to the bottom of your fermenter but since you boiled it the proteins in the gelatin will have denatured and will not work as thought.

Just let it ferment out, and if you can chill the wort before bottling it will allow the jello to drop out of suspension and they should not be present in the beer.

Thank you. Unfortunetly I boiled the gelatin. I am bottling this weekend. I may get more gelatin because there are currently some gelatin chuncks floating at the top. The new gelatin will hopefully help pull those down..
