I've got a bunch of crap lying around including a bunch of extract and I want to make an IPA out of it. Here's what I came up with. I'm mainly interested in the hop schedule.

Anticipated OG: 1.068 Plato: 16.68
Anticipated SRM: 9.2
Anticipated IBU: 67.0
Brewhouse Efficiency: 75 %
Wort Boil Time: 60 Minutes

1.00 oz. Centennial9 Whole 9.00 36.9 60 min.
0.50 oz. Goldings - E.K. Whole 4.75 2.6 15 min.
1.00 oz. Cascade Whole 5.75 0.0 Dry Hop
0.50 oz. Cascade7.5 Whole 7.50 13.8 45 min.
0.50 oz. Cascade7.5 Whole 7.50 7.8 30 min.
1.00 oz. Cascade Whole 5.75 3.9 5 min.
1.00 oz. Centennial Whole 10.50 0.0 Dry Hop
0.50 oz. Goldings - E.K. Whole 4.75 1.9 10 min.

My hops are from a variety of sources which is why the same variety has different AAs.

What do you guys think of the hop schedule? It's telling me 67 IBUs to 1.068 OG. 1:1 ratio should be appropriate for an IPA, shouldn't it? I've heard that somewhere...

Do you guys think putting the EKGs in there is a good idea? I've got nothing else to do with them... I know they don't fit the bill of an American IPA but I think it might add a little bit of an edge to it.

Think that 2 oz of dry hopping is going to give too much grassy flavor?

I do think 2oz. for dry hopping is a bit much. I would recommend starting off with 1/2 or 3/4 oz. and adding if you need to. 2oz. may overwhelm, detracting from the balance of he beer.

Victory must be mashed.

I don't like Goldings, but they'll be thoroughly quashed by the C hops. I wouldn't do a 45min addition because that is when I'm cleaning my mash tun.:) 2oz dry-hops IMHO is fine for that big a beer as long as you don't leave em in too long. A week maybe.

Victory must be mashed.

I did not know that. I'll replace that with .25lb caramunich 40 probably. I just want to put something in there to add some complexity. That still should put me at an alright color for an IPA. Thanks for the heads up.

I'll take half of the dry hop qty away. I adjusted the 45 minute addition for IBU purposes as well.

Amount Name Form Alpha IBU Boil Time
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.00 oz. Centennial9 Whole 9.00 36.7 60 min.
0.50 oz. Centennial9 Whole 9.00 3.1 5 min.
0.50 oz. Goldings - E.K. Pellet 4.75 2.8 15 min.
0.50 oz. Cascade Pellet 5.75 3.4 15 min.
0.50 oz. Cascade Pellet 5.75 0.0 Dry Hop
1.00 oz. Cascade7.5 Pellet 7.50 17.2 30 min.
1.00 oz. Cascade Pellet 5.75 4.3 5 min.
0.50 oz. Centennial Whole 10.50 0.0 Dry Hop
0.50 oz. Goldings - E.K. Pellet 4.75 2.1 10 min.

Gives me 69.6 IBU. Might be tasty. Thoughts?
