here's my IPA recipe.. The guy at the brew store gave me tettnang instead of chinook by mistake!! I didn't notice it until I got home. I used it anyway since it's not a short drive away...

11.23 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM)
1.02 lb Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM)
1.02 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 80L (80.0 SRM)
1 oz Tettnang
1 oz Northern Brewer
1 oz Cascade

0.25 tsp Irish Moss
1 Pkgs London Ale (Wyeast Labs #1028)

Should I dry hop with 2 oz of cascade?

How will the tettnang hops change this brew?

the Alpha Acids in the Tettnang arn't nearly as high as the chinook 4.5% VS 13.0% which will lead to a beer that Isn't nearly as bitter and as it would have been. other than that the recipe looks good.

Im presuming that the chinook/tettnang addition was at 60 Min>?

and as far as dry hopping goes...my vote is YES!

apologies for the late response. i dryhopped and it came out GREAT! much better than i expected. I made labels and gave a bunch out as xmas gifts.

one thing i noticed, after about 2.5 months of being in the bottle, the nice, crisp hop taste subsided and didn't taste as good or "fresh". i was saving some to enjoy later on, but i should've drank em all asap!

is this common for ipas?

I've become obsessed with the freshness of my IPAs for this reason. It's sooooo disappointing to taste the hopping slowly fade away. Just have to add more hops next time!
