I was unable to find a washer in that size from McMaster. I'll admit that I'm not a washer and oring expert, so I may have overlooked something.

The Keg King rep tells me that the current batches are not exhibiting the issues. It will be couple of weeks before I get my washers, but I will report back once I do.

As for the missing orings for the FC seat that is inside the faucet body, they won't have those for a long while and I may need to source them myself. I'm waiting on Keg King to send my the specs as I do not have a caliper to measure.

The Vent-Matic patents have been reviewable on-line for years.

I'm surprised that there are so many bonnet issues with the Intertaps - do they use an O-ring on both sides of the lever handle pivot like the Perls do?

fwiw, I've never had a bonnet leak on my half-dozen Perls over these many years since I bought them, but I did have one arrive with a spout dribble.
Eventually figured out the bonnet was badly misadjusted, enough that the spout sealing ball at the end of the faucet lever didn't align with the spout O-ring...

Cheers!

They appear to be the same as ventmatic with a washer on top, two nylon cupped washers, and an o-ring on the bottom.

I think you were right. Last checked "add to cart" was showing up and they had 85 units. Here's hoping the birthday present hints work out. :mug:

That would make a nice birthday gift! My birthday is past, so if I get them, I'll have to buy them for myself. Hope it works out for you. :mug:

Has anyone purchased the auto close spring for these? If so will they work with a standard SS shank?

They work, but the spring has to compress further than when installed in the intertap shanks. It just increases the force required to open the tap a bit.

Update on intertap flow control (sourced from aliexpress) and sour beer. I poured about 2 gallons of a kettle soured beer through my intertap flow control over the course of 2 weeks. Never had any sulphur or other odors. Beer pH was 3.2.

If you already didn't notice from the vendor form, all three faucets are for sale at William's Brewing now. I'm very tempted to get a flow control. But $50.. wow...

Quirks and all I like my Intertap better than my 525SS's and 630PC's and I think over time I'll be selling the Perlicks and getting the Intertaps instead.

We will see about the "bonnet" leaks. I went through that with one of my two used 525's and I ended up rebuilding the internals and updating it which likely wasn't work the money and time, actually... but I understand. So far, so good on my one Intertap, though.

I would love to try these, but I have teens and don't see a way to lock the taps. Per licks have a metal tab on the bottom of the tap that allows for a lock. Guess I'll have to wait a few more years until the kids are in college.

Do a search on the forum for "beer tap lock" or "faucet lock" and you should find some examples. Here's one I found on THIS THREAD:

Well, it looks like Intertap has worked out their patent issues and is good to go in the U.S. now. They list 3 U.S. patents, and Williams Brewing is carrying most, if not all of the Intertap products. That narrows down my excuses for not getting a kegerator build going.

Interesting idea... but I think i'd just put some inline valves on the beer lines and lock the fridge door.

With teenagers, I'd think a prominently located wifi webcam would work great. You can buy one pretty cheap. They have motion-activation, take pics automatically, work in complete darknessw (IR LEDs), send you instant notifications on your phone, you can see the video from your phone. Pretty neat.

Just mount somewhere and point at the keezer and show your kids it. Show them the nifty app, demo it for them. They would have to be VERY ballsy to touch the keezer after they see that.

How about trust and or fear of a whooping. I grew up with ready access to all sorts of booze and never touched it.

This may be old news/info but I found a website called kegworld and they carry the Vent-Matic taps. I placed an order a week ago for the SS high polished finish. I did not hear anything from them - no confirmation number or order number so I sent them an email yesterday and I got an email back from Leon saying that the owner of the Vent-Matic faucet Brad is waiting on a new stock of faucet bodies and is expecting them Monday and my order will go out shortly after that. I researched a little and found that kegworld is actually a company called studio city enterprises in Nevada. I looked a little deeper online and found that the vent-matic inventor Brad Amidzich owns studio city enterprises? So does anybody know whether this is another attempt by brad to get the vent-matics back into production, hopefully without the quality issues this time? I would prefer the vent-matic if it is of the same quality as the original.

Haha. Right. My 3 kids are off at college now, so I've been through it. I had 4 taps ready to pour at all times, as afar as I know they never touched it.

My kids aren't partyers though. I'm sure they make the most of college, but they've all been good kids, conscientious and trustworthy.

To be fully honest, if my parents had taps in the house I would have abused the **** out of that. Not sure how my kids ended up nerdsters.

Based on the past experiences of others, you might want to call your bank. Seriously, there are countless stories of people getting hosed and dragged along for those faucets. I hope I'm wrong.

Thankfully I paid using paypal so if it is a total BS story and I don't see the faucet in a couple of weeks I'll just contact Paypal and suspend payment and request a full refund from Paypal. Same route if I actually do get it and it is one of the piece of crap versions he tried to sell a couple years back. We'll see...
