I have a recirculating, direct fire mash tun. I would like to insulate it. I have some of the silver "bubble wrap stuff" from lowes. I am afraid of using it with the burner. Has anyone found a better suited insulation?

I asked about this the other day, here:

Ultimately I've stopped using direct fire for the time being (I also have a direct-fired HLT), and added a bunch of insulation to the MT to help retain heat during the mash. It's been working well so far.

Based on the research I've done, rock/mineral wool would also work with a sheet metal shroud if you want to continue to direct-fire.

Rockwool (really in-expensive) covered with a SS wrap (not so inexpensive) has worked well for me.
