Insulating a Keggle Mash Tun

Dropping too much temperature and too fast. I dont want to add a flame. Not opposed to adding a heating element but would prefer to just insulate for now. Whats the best way to insulate a keggle? What materials? Should I try a RIMS system?

Do you direct fire you MT with insulation?

I'm hoping to to direct fire the strike water, with insulation in. Maybe make a simple baffle to keep direct heat off the insulation.

I use a RIMS system. If you want to direct-fire the MT, you'll need a fire-resistant insulation.

Are you brewing 5 or 10 gallon batches
