Nice I might have to go this route, I have a DIY sight glass I made from an old racking cane. Well the sight glass got too close to the flames during boil and kinda warped.

Heh. Yeah, it's always a concern. I actually have a small piece of stainless steel that I use for s heat shield underneath it.

Yeah I have a heat shield and still didn't help lol
