I finally got my new Danby mini fridge today. Now I'm read a few threads about building a mini fridge kegerator and I'm wondering a few things.

1) Do I really have to take off the top of the fridge ? Seems like a major pain and I might break the plastic. To find the lines, I plugged the fridge and used my thermapen to find the warmest spot on the top and I'm pretty sure the lines are near the door because it's a lot more warmer than the back.

2) Most people install a piece of plywood for the tower but I was thinking of drilling right through the fridge, placing a small piece of plywood inside the fridge and tighten the bolts. What do you think ?

As long as you think you can find where the lines then don't take the top off. The local fire department normally has a thermal imaging camera. Give them a call and see if that would help you out.

The plywood on the inside should be fine. I have seen it done both ways. Good luck!
