I'm almost through drinking my first batch of beer. Most bottles have been pretty good, but I've run into a couple that tasted a little off.

I had one last night that had a strange bitter taste to it. Not good bitter, as from hops, but bitter in a bad way. I'd describe it as the kind of bitterness you get when you sprinkle some artificial sweeteners on your tongue - they don't taste sweet in concentrated amounts, and have an undesirable bitterness.

Does this sound like an infection in one or two of my bottles? I also have a cold, and was pretty stuffed up last night when I was drinking the above, so it could just be a case of losing my sense of taste/smell.

When you poured the beer from the bottles, did you notice any additional cloudiness or anything floating around in your glass that wasn't present in the other beers?

Nope, the beer looked identical to the rest. I had another one yesterday with a similar flavor. I asked someone else to try and it they didn't think it was bad, but thought there was something slightly off about it. Could be oxidation, although I wouldn't describe it as cardboard-like.
