Brewed an oatmeal porter Friday night. Pitched Wyeast German Ale, showed no signs of fermentation as of mid day yesterday, now I have this and pretty rapid activity in blowoff. Looks like I finally got a good infection huh?

Crappy pic, mate. But,that does indeed look like something growing in there which you did not pitch

I encountered the same (more or less) bubbles.. It was when i used the us-05 american ale. Those stange bubbles appeared after my ale fermentation became slower (6 days!!)
Take a big sniff, if it smells like the yeast profile then it should be alright.
Try to remember in your pitching procedures at the same day.. This surly can provide some answers if the brew ends in the drainage..
