Lot of firsts for me here. First wheat, first liquid yeast, first 3g batch, etc...

ForumRunner_20120518_173744.jpg

13 days in primary at basement temp (63) and it looks like this. OG: 1.040, gravity reading right now is 1.010. Hasn't bubbled in a while but it's 3g batch in a 5g bucket. Yeast is WL400. It's BierMuncher's Blue Balls blue moon clone.

I've never used flaked wheat either. I dipped my baster under that foam and got beer, it's not very thick at all. Beer tastes awesome, but I've never seen that. Usually the tops of my fermenters are clean and clear of goo.

This normal? Do I have a nasty? Planning on racking underneath it unless I hear otherwise.

Congrats on all your firsts, no infection, totally normal, kraeusen dropping out, let it finish up and enjoy!

Cheers!

I love these infection posts because I get to see awesome beer pics! :ban: Yeah, looks good to me too. I think (if I remember correctly) my blue moon clone had a similar looking kraeusen that stuck around a while. Congrats on your firsts!

+1 for waiting

I did a blue moon clone that looked like that, plus it had clumps of discolored crushed corriander and orange zest floating in it. I too waited an extra week before bottling, and even tho it looked aweful, it tastes awesome!
