Hello all I have a questions for all of you. Is there anyone out there using induction cooktop's to brew 10gallon batches? If so what burner are you using?

Also does anyone know the savings on time and power with using induction over electrical?

Thank you all in advance.

Brew safe

The largest practical induction cookers are about 3500W; so it will take at least 75 minutes to reach a boil with 12 gallons of wort (assuming starting wort it 70F).
If you are patient it will work fine.

There is no savings on time and power using induction over immersion heaters.
An immersion element (water heater element) is nearly 100% efficient compared to an induction cooker at 84%.
You can get 5500W water heater elements for nearly the same price as a 3500W; this will reduce your time to boil from 75 minutes to 45 minutes.

If you compare induction to a glass top stove it is about 10% more efficient.
