We (Kai and the rest of my house) recently brewed a wheat beer for some friends. Being lazy, we left the MLT, boil kettle, and hose at their place for a couple of weeks (unfortunately, we didn't get to brew in that time).
Well, today we decided to finally do that hefeweisen, so we went to get our gear. It had been left outside in the back of their house, and this being Nova Scotia, there was a fair bit of ice.
I dumped out the huge plug of ice from the pot onto the lawn, and looked in. The bottom of our crappy aluminum boil kettle was bowed out so far it would barely stand up. We banged it on the cement until it was flat enough to stand, but it's still pretty warped. The hose and MLT were also kind of frozen.
Hopefully it'll still boil. We already had to wrap it in a towel to maintain a rolling boil. We're testing it right now.
